The gadgets we actually kept using
Most new gear is a weekend novelty. These are the ones that earned a spot on the desk, in the bag, or in a pocket.

A gadget earns its keep when you stop thinking about it. If you have to remember to charge it, find it, or explain it, it is a toy. The good ones disappear into the day and make one annoying job go away.
This list is a placeholder so the tech section has a real page. The ranking is not a review. The layout is.
The test
We used a simple rule. Did it stay out of the drawer after two weeks? A flashlight that lives by the door passes. A speaker you set up once for a party does not. A multitool you actually open, like this pocket tool, passes. The box it came in does not.
What stayed
- A small light with a clip, not a lantern with an app.
- One charger that covers the laptop and the phone.
- A knife or multitool you are allowed to carry where you live.
The rest can wait. New is not the same as useful, and useful is the only score that matters on a Tuesday.
